Communications Arts Instructor - Part-time
The College of Idaho invites applications for a part-time Communication Arts Instructor to start in the
2024 fall semester. We seek candidates who share the College’s commitment to creating an equitable
and inclusive academic community through their teaching. The anticipated teaching load is two
courses in the fall term, renewable for an additional two courses in the spring term.
The Department of Communication Arts is seeking a qualified candidate to teach two sections of COM-
100: Communication and Culture. This Communication Arts survey course offers a broad range of
theories to examine communication perspectives but prioritizes identity and humanistic approaches.
The Department of Communication Arts, at the College of Idaho, approaches communication from a
Critical/Cultural lens, and works to prepare students to participate in “the political” with awareness of
the constitutive nature of communication, and the centrality of culture to these discussions. We offer a
major and minor in Communication, and our minor is the largest departmental minor offered at the
College.
A terminal degree in Communication or a closely related field is expected. Master and ABD candidates
will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with college-level teaching experience.
