ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Consistently provide friendly, engaging and anticipatory guest service and heartfelt hospitality.
  2. Perform opening and closing procedures, complete checklists and assigned side work. Refill salt, pepper, and other condiments.
  3. Clean and sanitize assigned areas and tools thoroughly before and after shift end. 
  4. Polish glasses and silverware, fold napkins, clean and sanitize menus, tables, trays, and high touch surfaces.
  5. Set up room service trays and tables to prepare for incoming orders.
  6. Answer in-room dining phones using appropriate etiquette and receive orders.
  7. Maintain full knowledge of all food & beverage items, garnishes, allergens, contents and preparation methods.
  8. Describe menu and daily specials. Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.
  9. Correctly customize orders as requested and check with kitchen staff. 
  10. Submit orders to kitchen and bar by entering orders in POS system. Explain any special instructions with accurate abbreviations.
  11. Manage guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.
  12. Notify guests and management of delays in service delivery.
  13. Prepare hot and cold beverages, such as coffee and/or tea, according to designated recipes and quality standards.
  14. Set trays and tables according to specifications, retrieve food and beverage orders from the kitchen and bar and deliver food to guest rooms, villas, pools or meeting rooms.
  15. Add any additional items to order before it is delivered (condiments, salad dressings, steak knife, etc.).
  16. Serve drinks and meals according to service standards while managing guest orders in a timely and anticipatory manner.
  17. Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
  18. Collect guest trays, clean and remove the trolleys from guest rooms and hallways.
  19. Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  20. Present checks to guests and obtain payments. Process payments in POS system and close out checks.
  21. Perform order taker duties and answer room service telephone, as needed.
  22. Responsible for coordinating in-room dining service with front- and back-of-house personnel to provide a guest experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
  23. Assist in expediting food from the kitchen when necessary.
  24. Complete opening and closing procedures in the pool areas. Ensure that the entire pool areas are clean and presentable at all times.
  25. Assist pool guests with all pool service offerings and functions, included but not limited to placing pool chairs, assisting with umbrellas, providing towels and providing sunscreen.
  26. Clean, sanitize and reset vacated pool tables and chairs.
  27. Collect soiled towels and transport them to the laundry.
  28. Stock the pool area with fresh towels.
  29. Sweep the pool area. Maintain organization and cleanliness around the pool area.
  30. Immediately respond to and correct any potential safety conditions such as a wet floor.
  31. Assist with Restaurant Busser/Runner duties.
  32. Greet and welcome all guests in the restaurant, pool and bar areas, and meeting rooms.
  33. Remove soiled dishes and mark tables between courses.
  34. Clear, clean and reset vacated tables after guests depart.
  35. Assists guests in an informative and helpful way.
  36. Observe guests, respond to additional requests, and determine when the meal has been completed. Notify a server or a manager of any special requests.
  37. Maintain clean, orderly and fully stocked service stations. Maintain appropriate stock levels of glassware, silverware, dishware, linens, and pool towels.
  38. Mop, sweep, and perform other cleaning duties throughout the Food & Beverage outlets as needed.
  39. Maintain the highest level of standards of quality of products and service at all times.
  40. Advise supervisor/manager of any complaints as soon as they occur.
  41. Maintain cleanliness or all Food & Beverage outlet areas. Maintain full knowledge of and comply with food safety and sanitation policies at all times.
  42. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and personal hygiene.
  43. Demonstrate ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure.
  44. Adhere to local and government compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a clean and safe work environment for guests and employees.
  45. Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.
  46. Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
  47. Notify Loss Prevention immediately of found items if guest has departed.
  48. Maintain a professional courteous manner with all guests and fellow employees.
  49. Assist with special and deep cleaning projects as assigned by a supervisor.
  50. Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist with monthly inventory of food & beverage and paper products within F&B outlets.

Qualifications


STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS:

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  1. 6 months of Food & Beverage experience in a busser/runner/server assistant role.
  2. Good understanding of steps of service.
  3. Ability to carry and balance plates and trays.
  4. Excellent guest service skills and passion for hospitality.
  5. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
  6. Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and co-workers.
  7. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  8. Detail-oriented and thorough.
  9. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  10. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  11. Ability to perform consistent work to the hotel’s high standards.
  12. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  13. Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
  14. Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  15. Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

Desirable:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous fine dining experience/training.
  3. Prior experience with Food & Beverage POS systems.
  4. Fluent in a secondary language.

Desirable:

  1. Food Handler certificate.
  2. Responsible Alcohol Service certificate.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
  2. Exposure to outdoor environmental factors.
  3. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach and carry with hands and arms.
  4. Able to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.
