The Community Blood Center is Hiring an Executive Director, Operations Near Appleton, WI

JOB SUMMARY: The Executive Director, Operations – Eastern Wisconsin/ UP Michigan is a strategic leader ultimately responsible for achieving the organizational objectives of the operational unit within The Community Blood Center (CBC) (a division of Midwest Blood Centers, Inc (MBC)). This includes collaborating with executive-level management in the development, oversight and expansion of donor recruitment, blood collections, manufacturing and hospital services activities in the assigned area. Accountable for ensuring operations are compliant with all applicable regulations, standards and organizational policies. Responsible for creating an engaged, collaborative and productive culture while ensuring blood donors, blood drive sponsors, hospital and blood center customers receive exceptional service. Works collaboratively with the leadership team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Develop, implement and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes in the areas of field donor recruitment, blood donor collections, manufacturing and hospital services.
  • Participates in strategic and annual planning of the organization to develop and implement plans to create and achieve the future success of the organization. Sets regional and department priorities and goals aimed at achieving organizational objectives.
  • Responsible for providing the processes, infrastructure, staff and training to ensure exceptional, skillful and knowledgeable services are provided to all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for accomplishment of key department and organizational objectives including budgetary, compliance, service, productivity and growth goals.
  • Effectively initiates, implements and manages change within the organization.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external partners, business and community representatives, customers and internal stakeholders to advance the objectives of the organization.
  • Inspires and motivates leaders to create and foster highly engaged staff where growth, development, two-way communication and training are promoted.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative, compliant and safe working environment. Oversight consists of allocation of resources, monitoring and coaching performance.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration within areas of oversight and with others within the organization.
  • Prepare annual budget for area of oversight and monitor regularly. Develop plans to maintain or adjust operations as needed based on financial forecasting.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, SOPs or directives. Maintains current level of job-related skills by attending in-services and training sessions and reading publications.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree desired. Relevant equivalent experience acceptable.

Experience:

  • 15 years operational management experience required, ideally with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Previous blood center experience preferred
