The Product Development Team at EVAPCO at Evapco’s Alcoil facility in York, PA supports the HVAC, Industrial Refrigeration and Power markets at all 22 Evapco locations in 10 countries. EVAPCO’s Product Development Engineers develop next-generation technologies that meet the evolving needs of our global customers. The available position is responsible for completing engineering tasks critical to new product development, maintaining existing products and providing support to all areas of the company including Production, Manufacturing and Marketing.

We are looking for self-motivated engineers who possess effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to build relationships with global Evapco team members, represent Evapco to applicable industry organizations, and occasionally support our customers via virtual and onsite assistance.

Key Responsibilities :

• New Product Research and Development
  1. Responsible for designing, programming and implementing control systems for production units.
  2. Interaction with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  3. Create necessary certified drawings, project specific production drawings, electrical schematics, and bill of materials.
  4. Create and update documentation for internal and external distribution.
  5. Coordinate with other Evapco facilities to update and create part specifications for components used in control systems.
  6. Plan, oversee, and execute tests on alternative electrical components prior to implementation on production units.
  7. Prepare technical reports and summaries of R&D tests.
  8. International support of control systems which includes working with third party suppliers in other world regions.
  9. Support R&D facility with controls related questions, troubleshooting, new test apparatus and lab expansion projects.
  10. Work with other departments to build consensus across organizational boundaries to assist in new product development
  11. Participate in industry organizations to assist with test code and certification program development
• Marketing and Application Assistance
  1. Support Marketing in answering customer questions and other requests.
  2. Occasionally travel to customer’s jobsites to conduct start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of installed equipment.
  3. Develop solutions to customer requests for modifications or additions to control systems.
• Production Assistance
  1. Support Evapco facilities on projects in the areas of production scheduling, production questions, and factory testing.
  2. Training of factory technicians on the proper procedures of building and testing control systems.
  3. Coordinate and support field technicians when they are conducting start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of installed equipment.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical
• Must be able to communicate professionally & effectively, have strong attention to detail, consistent follow through, and reliable documentation skills
• The preferred candidate will have 2-5 years of engineering experience, but college graduates seeking an entry level position will be considered.

Location:

• Position will be onsite in York, PA with occasional visits required to the Taneytown, MD Evapco headquarters facility.
• Candidate should expect travel 10-15% of the time to various conferences, customer locations, job sites, and manufacturing facilities.
