Position Summary
Kohelet Yeshiva is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Facilities Manager. We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operational needs of our K-12 school, which serves approximately 360 students. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication and leadership skills. The Facilities Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment conducive to learning and growth for our students and staff.
Facilities Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all school buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Coordinate school vehicles PM and inspections.
Establish and maintain standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality throughout the campus.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry best practices in facilities management.
Implement a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity of facilities and equipment.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services as needed.
Supervise contracts and relationships with facilities vendors, including maintenance technicians, custodians, and groundskeepers.
Capital and Expansion Projects Management:
Lead capital planning efforts to identify, prioritize, and execute facility improvement projects and renovations.
Develop and manage capital budgets, timelines, and resources for construction, renovation, and maintenance initiatives.
Implement asset management strategies to optimize the lifespan and value of school facilities and equipment.
Support Executive Director in the anticipated expansion project.
Safety and Security:
Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, including school drills.
Serve as liaison with our security company, communicating and assuring scheduling.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address safety hazards.
Manage security systems and protocols to safeguard school property and ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety protocols.
Proficiency in budget management, project planning, and resource allocation.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, positive approach to addressing issues.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure.
Familiarity with relevant software applications for facilities management and record-keeping.
Certification or licensure in facilities management or related field (desired).
