The Consortium of Jewish Day Schools is Hiring a High School Math Teacher Near Las Vegas, NV

Girls' High School, located in Summerlin, is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Math Teacher to join our dynamic academic team for the 2024-2025 academic year. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mathematics, a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and the ability to inspire students to excel in their mathematical studies. The High School Math Teacher will design and deliver comprehensive math curricula, implement effective teaching strategies, and foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging and rigorous lesson plans that align with the high school math curriculum and Nevada State Standards.
  • Foster a positive, warm learning environment that encourages active student participation and critical thinking.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the overall success of the math department.
  • Create a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes academic excellence, teamwork, and a passion for mathematics.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a supportive educational experience.
  • Stay current with educational trends, best practices, and advancements in mathematics education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience teaching high school mathematics, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for fostering a positive and warm learning environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with technology integration in the classroom is a plus.

Job Details:

  • Small class sizes, supportive environment
  • 12 periods/week: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Statistics/Precalculus
  • Located in Summerlin, NV
  • Monday-Friday but off one day
