Full Job Description
As the face of our marine construction and boat lift service division, the Service Technician at The Dock Experts, LLC will be responsible for educating clients, selling, and administering installation, service, and maintenance solutions for boat lifts, docks, and seawalls. Your work ensures our clients can enjoy safe and reliable waterfront experiences while preserving their valuable investments. Additionally, you will maintain a comprehensive understanding of all marine construction projects to provide clients with solutions that span the entire Dock Experts scope of work. This is a hybrid position that combines both hands-on technical work and sales responsibilities, including selling upgrades and repairs to existing clients.

The Dock Experts is a fast-growing marine construction industry leader: helping South Florida residents and business owners build, maintain, protect, and enjoy their waterfront properties through proper inspection and care, with ecological preservation at the forefront. We specialize in demolition, construction, installation, and maintenance of seawalls, docks, boat lifts, and dock accessories. Our objectives are simple: show up on time, charge fair prices, do good work, and stand behind our workmanship and our products.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Maintenance Plans: Collaborate with clients to identify and implement the appropriate maintenance plans for their docks, seawalls, and boat lifts.
  • Boat Lift Installation & Service: Perform scheduled inspections, diagnostics, installations, and maintenance on boat lifts, ensuring proper functionality and safety. This includes checking electrical systems, hydraulics, motors, cables, and mechanical components.
  • Construction Service & Maintenance: Lead a team to administer dock and seawall service and maintenance, including work on pilings, decks, docks, hardware, and additions.
  • Marine Construction Projects: Maintain a working knowledge of our full product and service offerings to ensure clients are provided with comprehensive solutions to meet their needs.
  • Sales: Actively engage in selling upgrades and repairs to clients, identifying opportunities to enhance their waterfront properties.
  • Quality & Inspection: Uphold a standard of excellence, ensuring all work meets or exceeds quality and timeliness expectations.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Sales experience required; prior boat lift installation experience is preferred.
  • Licensing: Active driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Tools: Must have basic tools (square, tape measure, hammer, drill, etc.).
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting abilities, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills, including typing, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience(Strongly preferred): 2 years of prior experience in boat lift and dock installation, service, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge: General knowledge of construction operations and procedures is beneficial.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor, and a "safety-first" approach.
  • Tools: Familiarity with hand tools such as power drills, hammers, and saws.
  • Language: Bilingual in English/Spanish is strongly preferred.

Schedule:
