Full Job Description
E Tabb Design Construction & Development is seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in computer-aided design (CAD) and a passion for creating precise and innovative design plans for various construction projects. This role requires excellent technical skills, the ability to interpret and produce detailed blueprints, and a collaborative approach to project execution.

Who we are:
E Tabb Design Construction & Development is a commercial construction general contracting firm that specializes in medical construction. Based in Louisville, KY, we provide design/build GC services to corporate and independent clients in the medical field throughout the eastern United States.We are a team-oriented company that values attention to detail, follow-through and a willingness to learn new skills. Our owners are involved and accessible, and have over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Our typical projects are medical office tenant build outs of 10,000SF or less and will span all phases of construction, from concrete slab pour and layout to punch out for client turnover. Our crews self-perform many aspects of construction which can include demo, layout, concrete, framing, door/frame installation, casework install, and ceiling install.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Create detailed CAD drawings and blueprints for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Creating casework elevations and working directly with the cabinet shop general manager.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to develop and refine design plans.
  • Revise and update existing CAD drawings based on project modifications and feedback.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and incorporate real-world conditions into design plans. Perform test fits.
  • Maintain organized records of design drafts, revisions, and project documentation. Assist with permitting and compliance.
  • Project Coordination assistance with onsite teams and management
  • nt. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams regarding CAD software and design best practices.
  • Stay updated on advancements in CAD technology and software to continually improve design efficiency and quality.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Proven experience as a CAD Designer in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs.
  • Strong understanding of construction principles, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to conduct site visits as needed.

  • Based in Louisville and working as needed on projects throughout the Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio region including Frankfort, Lexington, Evansville, Cincinnati, and surrounding areas.
