Sign-On Bonus : $2000 over the first year ($1000 at 90 days and $1000 at 6 months).Job DescriptionNorthern Analytical Services, LLC (NAS) is seeking a dedicated Field Technician to join our team.

This role involves managing on-site day-to-day activities, controlling air quality during remediation, and providing site inspections across Michigan.

Our team of accredited industrial hygienists delivers a comprehensive range of services, including hazardous building material inspections, indoor air quality testing, and more.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to : -Project Oversight : Ensure contractor compliance during renovation projects to meet safety standards.

  • Sample Collection : Collect and analyze air quality samples to assess environmental conditions.-Performance Monitoring : Monitor project schedules and performance to ensure timely completion.
  • Reporting : Compile and review field reports, and handle submissions to regulatory bodies.-Inspections and Testing : Conduct visual inspections and perform clearance testing to verify project compliance.
  • On-Site Management : Manage on-site day-to-day activities and control air quality during remediation.-Construction Knowledge : Understand and manage ductwork, framing, and drywall processes.
  • Monitoring Removal : Supervise the removal of insulation and damaged materials.-Remediation Supervision : Oversee remediation teams in commercial settings, understanding the demolition of insulation, drywall, flooring, and interior structures compromised by old lead and asbestos.
  • Field Work : Ability to wear Tyvek suits and walk sites when needed.The ideal candidate should possess : -Computer Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to operate a laptop in the field.
  • Technical Proficiency : Ability to operate a phase contrast microscope.-Communication Skills : Effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Travel Requirement : Willingness to travel extensively across Michigan.-Physical Ability : Capable of carrying equipment weighing approximately 30 pounds.
  • Construction Knowledge : Background in construction with a willingness to learn new trades; able to understand and discuss ductwork, framing, and drywall.
  • IAQ Experience : Experience in IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) testing and management preferred but not required.-Remediation Knowledge : Understanding of commercial or residential construction and the ability to effectively communicate with remediation subcontractors.
  • Observations and Note-Taking : Excellent observation and detailed note-taking skills.-Professional Representation : Uphold a professional and ethical demeanor in all interactions.

Schedule : -45-50 hours per week-Monday to Thursday 7 : 00am - 5 : 30pm-Work Fridays less than 50% of the timeWork Location : -Big Rapids, MI, 49307-Because our projects are spread out over the entire state our team members can be as well.

Typical travel is from your home to the job site and back on a daily / weekly basis. The majority of our sites are within 2 hours of the central Michigan area.
