GRANTS COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
Job Summary
The grants compliance specialist reports to the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Grants. The primary area of support will be the review and processing of grant reimbursements ensuring compliance with county funded and other Arts & Culture grants. The position will assist with contract administration, audit review, technical assistance and administrative functions within the department. The position may also support the finance department from time to time. A flexible work schedule with some remote work is available. This is a full-time non-exempt position.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Grants Application Process

• Utilize online grants system
• Assist applicants with online grant process
• Review applications for completeness and eligibility

Contract Administration

• Assist in the preparation and processing of grantee contracts

Reimbursements

• Review and process reimbursement requests
• Work with grantees on all reimbursement related inquiries
• Track all reimbursements using Excel
• Assist with the review and processing of program and budget amendments

Audits

• Review applicant/grantee audits in conjunction with finance department

Reporting

• Update Funding History database annually
• Generate reports and maintain accurate and up-to-date records

General Grant Assistance

• Assist with the delivery and receipt of reimbursements between Cultural Council and County
• Provide quality customer service and technical assistance to prospective and/or current grantees via telephone, e-mail, meetings, etc.
• Assist AVP of Grants with other grant department duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements
Education and/or Experience

• Associate degree in accounting or 3-5 years bookkeeping experience
• Minimum of two years experience working in the nonprofit sector or related field

Skills and Abilities

• Experience in grant management, audit review and reimbursements a plus
• Strong math and analytic skills
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks)
• Working knowledge of Google Docs
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Effective written and oral communication skills
