Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PowerShell scripting and VMware technologies, and will be responsible for the management and maintenance of thousands of servers. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Server Management: Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of a large-scale server environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• PowerShell Scripting: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate system administration tasks, streamline workflows, and enhance system efficiency.
• VMware Administration: Manage and support VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor server performance and capacity, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to optimize system performance.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with security policies and regulatory requirements, and implement best practices for data protection and disaster recovery.
• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including network, security, and application development, to ensure seamless integration and operation of the infrastructure.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior systems engineering role, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration.
• Extensive experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere and ESXi.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
