Golden Gate Hotel & Casino JOB SUMMARY: The Valet Parking Attendant assists in the coordination and daily parking operations while working alongside Transportation Runners by providing professional, courteous, and overall satisfaction to all guests using valet service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting the Company Service Standards at all times
Demonstrate attention to detail and complete assignment accurately
Delivers high levels of guest service
Ability to follow instructions provided in both written and verbal form
High attention to detail and workplace safety
Must be self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Assist with guests in a prompt courteous manner
Maintains communication and cooperation with other shifts and departments to keep fellow Team Members informed of all pertinent information
Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area in order to assist customers
Keeps track of how many vehicles comes in
Safely park and return guest vehicles in a professional manner
Must be able to verify that the valet tickets have been completed property i.e. Vehicle & Guest Information, Valet Attendant Number and that damage is accurately documented.
Checks to ensure that the vehicles are secure (doors, windows, trunk and that lights are off), email Hotel Management and if any issues are found
Monitor and direct personal and commercial vehicle traffic on property, including guest vehicles, taxi cabs, limousines, and buses
Provide daily direction to the Valet staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Ability to drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
Ability to communicate effectively with Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form
Ability to communicate in English
Proficient in computer applications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record
Previous experience working in a Hotel setting
High school diploma or the equivalent
Must have or obtain all required work cards
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment
Must be able to stand during entire shift
Work is typically in an area which may be noisy and may contain secondhand smoke
Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping
Able to effectively park and retrieve guest’s cars without causing damage to the vehicle
Tasks will include, but are not limited to, the maintenance and care of assigned areas
Constant contact with fellow Team Members and guests
