Job Summary: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for helping pharmacists perform daily tasks to serve patients. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with the pharmacist to make decisions that will ensure patients receive proper prescriptions and services (including the right to receive consultation as required by federal law) while achieving department goals. The Pharmacy Technician expedites prescription processing by performing all duties necessary and allowable, by policy or law while performing all functions or duties under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on duty. This position will work collaboratively with other departments throughout the organization to ensure the standards for accuracy, productivity, and customer relations are maintained to maximize patient compliance and health outcomes.

Job Requirements: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician, PTCB National Certification preferred. Two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in an inpatient or outpatient pharmacy preferred. Knowledge of 340B pharmacy services and experience with insurance claims for third-party payors including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance preferred. The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team required. Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable populations required. Individuals may not be on the government exclusion lists as determined by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and System for Award Management (SAM).
