Description The DarkStar Group is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer with a TS/SCI CI Poly clearance to join one of our top projects in Herndon, VA. THE PROJECT The DarkStar Group's team solves unique and challenging intelligence problems for a Special Operations customer. This work is as close to the mission as a technologist can get, so the environment is fast-paced: team members face rapidly-changing requirements and priorities as mission needs evolve. We are a multi-faceted software development and systems administration team working to build and maintain software applications backed by a self-managed cloud infrastructure (OpenStack) with a true big-data footprint (over 10 petabytes). Our diverse background of experience in mission support and software development serves as a catalyst to solve unique and challenging intelligence problems in support of special operations analysts and their on-going activities. Prototyping and frequent, iterative feedback are core to our delivery approach, anchored by a need to work quickly in support of our missions. The technical stack is quite robust and includes Java, Python, C#, C/C , Geospatial tools, Big Data and Graph Products (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, ElasticSearch, Neo4j), Linux, OpenStack, AWS, Ansible, SQL/NoSQL, Text Processing, Cloud Services, Containerization, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), and more. Work on this program takes place in the Herndon, VA area (we cannot support remote work) and requires a TS clearance and a willingness to obtain a CI Poly: a current TS/SCI CI Poly is preferred. THE ROLE * Coordinate with team's ISSEs and senior ISSOs to implement the Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) program for a Government IT system comprised of several hundred servers * Work under the guidance of ISSEs and senior ISSOs to complete tasks required to achieve and maintain system Authorities To Operate (ATOs) * Prepare and maintain information systems Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) packages (BoE - ConOps/Customer Test Plan, SSPs SCTM) Required Skills * Bachelor's degree with in Information Systems, Cyber Security or related field * 5 years of experience in Cyber Security; an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree * 3 years of experience in executing Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) programs for complex IT systems * Ability to communicate technical analyses at a level comprehensible to laymen and senior-level government representatives * Expert knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Experience with utilizing compliance tools to track assessment and authorization, and continuous monitoring activities (e.g. Xacta 360, ServiceNow, Tenable Security Center) * Working knowledge of the Risk
* Management Framework (RMF) and associative standards and guidelines * CompTIA Security Desired Skills * Experience with Linux (Red Hat) * Experience working within various system networks and classification levels * Advanced degree in a technical discipline * Experience working on-site at a government customer location * Experience participating in patching/system hardening activities * Experience working in DOD/IC * Experience with developing and maintaining configuration control documentation * Experience implementing services to intelligence community standards like ICD 503, NIST Risk Management Framework, and cloud technologies * DoD 8570 certification About The DarkStar Group Our Company The DarkStar Group is a small business that solves BIG problems.
