We are currently looking for Licensed Pesticide Applicators, CDL drivers to operate a variety of specialized railroad equipment which include Hi-Rail trucks, off-track, bucket trucks and on-track brush cutting equipment. We offer comprehensive on-the-job training so that you can confidently perform a variety of services for industrial and commercial clients. Our projects include right-of-way vegetation maintenance programs and asset management services for railroads, DOT’s, utility companies, commercial industries, Federal, State and local governments throughout the United States. Experience with vegetation management is a plus, but we will train the right individual
Job DutiesWhat You’ll Do:
  • Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
  • Drive, use, maintain and properly operate truck and sprayer equipment.
  • Spray complete weed, grass, and brush killer to various railroads.
  • Conduct daily tank mixing.
  • Conduct truck inspections, spray system maintenance and repairs.
  • Calibrate all spray equipment.
QualificationsWhat We’re Seeking:
  • Love of the outdoors
  • This position requires 75% travel - you are gone 5-8 weeks and then home one week (per diem provided and travel & lodging is covered by Davey)
  • Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
  • Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
  • Required: valid driver’s license
  • Required: Commercial Driver’s License-Class B with Tanker Endorsement
  • Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
  • Preferred: 5 years of bucket truck experience
  • Preferred: 3 years of heavy equipment operation to include: excavator, skid steer, skytrim/jiraffe, sennebogan.
