The Developer Link is assisting a growing startup in NYC that is searching for an experienced Lead software engineer (full stack, with expertise in React) to join the team. Situated in West Soho, our client is developing a digital product that allows consumers to engage with their own data. As a seed stage startup, they are collaborating with top investors and aiming to expand their backend systems to support their growing user base.

Responsibilities:

You will collaborate directly with the CTO to make crucial technical decisions, ensuring code and product quality. In addition to mentoring or guiding other engineers, your duties will involve creating user-friendly features, constructing scalable front-end architecture, maintaining code and product quality, and implementing best practices in development and deployment.

The ideal candidate should possess significant React experience, a minimum of five years in software engineering, strong product judgment, and the ability to work effectively with a product team to iterate quickly. Prior experience as a tech lead for a front-end team is necessary, with expertise in the tech stack, including React and Postgres.

It is essential to have a deep understanding of maintaining excellent code and teams and to be comfortable with ambiguity, with a track record of deploying code to production. Startup experience and a unique perspective are highly valued.

Requirements:

- 5 years of Software Engineering experience

- Team Lead Experience

- React

- Postgres

- Next.js/TypeScript is desirable

- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (onsite on Monday, Tuesday & Fridays)
