Join The Doe Fund on our mission to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism by providing holistic services, housing and work opportunities to the under-served populations including the formerly homeless and incarcerated, disconnected youth, veterans, and people living with AIDS. Our flagship transitional work program- Ready, Willing & Able- integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual’s return to mainstream society.

We are currently seeking a Program Director that will oversee The Doe Fund’s (TDF) NY/NY III Category E Scatter Site housing program funded by the DOHMH. This program serves a population of chronically homeless single adults who have a substance abuse disorder that is a primary barrier to independent living.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • You have earned a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a relevant field
  • You have at least 3-5 years of experience in both serving the target population and in supervising staff, including case managers
  • You possess strong leadership skills, including outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • You demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate staff and tenants
  • You possess excellent clinical and case management skills
  • You are sensitive to community issues and needs
  • You possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • You possess strong ethical standards, confidentiality and personal integrity
  • You are computer-proficient

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day programmatic operations
  • Evaluate programmatic needs and service delivery and develop enhancements and services in order to maximize tenants’ self-sufficiency
  • Ensure that service plans are developed in a manner that is consistent with program goals and of maximum benefit to tenants
  • Oversee the intake process and ensure the program is operating at full capacity at all times
  • Monitor program’s budget and contract and ensure that proper documentation is provided for all expenses and accounts
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with DOHMH’s contractual requirements and TDF’s policies and procedures
  • Manage clinical and maintenance staff and ensure that staff are providing adequate supportive case management services to tenants
  • Coordinate weekly staff meetings, tenant community meetings, and trainings
  • Conduct performance evaluations on all supervisees
  • Responsible for the completion of various reports as required by DOHMH, HRA and TDF
  • Coordinate quarterly incident review meetings with appropriate staff and draft summaries of these meetings
  • Establish and maintain relationships with landlords and advocate on apartment repairs when needed
  • Conduct internal audits and quality assurance checks to ensure timely and accurate completion and submission of all required documentation
  • Work closely with TDF’s property management staff to ensure timely and consistent rent collection
  • Perform other duties as assigned
