The Dollywood Company is Hiring a Guest Transit Host- Dollywood Theme Park - Part Time Seasonal Near Pigeon, TN

We are seeking a Guest Transit Host who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together and caring deeply about our brand. This person also brings a spirit of fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity and genuine hospitality to the lives of our guests.

This individual is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while ensuring the success and profitability of our unique offerings. They also bring fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity, and genuine hospitality to their life and work. We seek an individual who can bring the vision of the resorts to life. The right Guest Transit Host checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

The Tram Driver and Conductor position is defined by various positions to include Tram Driver, Conductor and Crowd Control. The Tram Driver and Conductor is responsible for all aspects of assigned areas, to include safety, friendliness, cleanliness and line speed.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Greet Guests and initiate friendly interaction. Provide Guest excellence, which exceeds expectations.
  • Effectively use empowerment to ensure Dollywood’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy is implemented.
  • React calmly and quickly in stressful/emergency situations. Physically assist Guests throughout the area as required.
  • Effectively perform in the role of Tram Operator to include (but not limited to):
    • Transport Guests via multi-unit conveyances in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Visually observe surroundings and trailing cars for potential safety hazards.
    • Visually observe Guest actions during operation to prevent safety hazards.
    • Clean and organize conveyance daily to present professional appearance.
    • Communicate calmly, clearly and professionally with Tram Conductor/Lot Attendants.
    • Maintain a sense of urgency to reduce Guest wait times.
  • Effectively perform in the role of Tram Conductor to include (but not limited to):
    • Visually observe trailing cars on multi-unit conveyances for potential safety hazards.
    • Visually observe Guest actions during operation to prevent safety hazards.
    • Communicate calmly, clearly and professionally with Tram Conductor/Lot Attendants.
    • Communicate safety rules and scripted festival/general park information in a manner consistent with the values and mission of The Dollywood Company.
  • Complete daily written reports and turn in any necessary paperwork to Parking PIC.
  • Operate vehicles/work each position in all weather conditions.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency toward area of operation to reduce Guest wait time.
  • Use time productively to include sweeping, clearing cobwebs, straightening cones, and other similar items.
  • Assist with other areas in parking as needed/requested by Management. 
  • Wear, keep clean and maintain a themed costume issued by Dollywood.
  • Perform special projects as directed by Management.
  • Attend all required Training Classes and Meetings.
  • Comply with safety and security directives, policies and procedures to ensure Hosts/Guests safety at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow all safety standards to include reporting any violation of standards.

Education and Experience Required

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • May be required to provide a copy of personal driving record from home state.
  • Must have less than three (3) traffic violations on record in the last three (3) years.
  • Must not have a DUI conviction in the past 15 years on record.
  • Applicants for positions that involve driving Guests or Hosts must pass a physical that complies with DOT requirements.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment offer a background check including motor vehicle and drug screen.

  • Able to tolerate various temperatures while working outdoors.
  • Able to operate/drive a company vehicle with valid TN driver’s license and insurance.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for long/short periods of time.
  • Able to work in a small, confined area.
  • Able to push and/or pull.
  • Able to bend at the waist and knees for long periods of time.
  • Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to learn additional ticketing system functions.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance to drive company vehicles.
  • Above average attention to detail and accuracy of information.
  • Ability to memorize safety standards & scripted material. 
  • Minimum of 18 years of age is required when/as:
    • Ride Operators at rides designated as High Thrill Attractions (as defined by IAAPA standards).
    • Any activity with use of a motor vehicle to include trams and shuttles
    • Drive vehicles operated exclusively on rails. Work on or ascend lift hills whether in training, normal operations, or evacuations.
