Senior Manager, State & Local Tax Administration (Contract to Hire)

Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead our state and local tax team, ensuring compliance and minimizing tax liability through strategic application of tax laws. This role involves direct supervision of tax professionals and coordination of tax planning, compliance, and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct state and local tax professionals.
• Research and implement tax planning strategies to reduce tax costs.
• Manage U.S. and Canadian tax compliance across various tax types including income, property, sales, and excise taxes.
• Act as the primary liaison for tax matters across corporate divisions.
• Keep abreast of tax law changes to optimize tax strategies.
• Oversee tax audits and handle tax assessments, protests, and abatements.
• Support tax provision calculations for financial reporting.
• Participate in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions as required.
• Flexible work schedule, with potential weekend hours and overtime as needed.

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of relevant tax experience.
• Advanced degree in taxation preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of tax laws and application, with the ability to conduct independent tax research.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hybrid role based in Colorado; requires three days on-site weekly.
• Salary range: $106,100 - $161,920, commensurate with experience.
