THE ROLE: The Education Cooperative seeks a school counselor for the TEC Phoenix Academy (TPA). Currently serving students in grades 6-12, TPA will be expanding to grades K-2 by creating a lower campus program located at The Education Cooperatives main campus in E. Walpole, MA. This position will provide the candidate the opportunity to help envision, build, and implement an elementary behavioral program, supporting students in grades K-2 whose special education placement requires a substantially separate setting.

The program will serve young students whose emotional and behavioral challenges are impacting their ability to access instruction in a typical classroom setting, with an eye toward developing necessary skills to experience academic success. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct clinical services to students on caseload in alignment with their IEPsConsult and collaborate daily with program staff in order to support development of students academic and behavioral skillsCommunicate with parents/caregivers to ensure an effective partnership between home and schoolLiaison with sending districts and community providersProvide risk assessmentsMaintain and document relevant student data.Complete all required IEP paperwork in alignment with established timelines.Actively participate in special education team meetings.Assist the Program Director in the intake of student referrals.Participate in staff and other professional development meetings, conferences and other training, such as Safety Care. TEC Phoenix Academy is a DESE approved public day school that is designed for students in Grades K-2 and 6-12 with academic, emotional and/or behavioral challenges that necessitate a small, structured educational setting.
