Title: Special Events & Marketing Intern
Position Status: Seasonal- Summer
Hours/Dates: 16 hours per week, Monday through Thursday 10 am to 2pm, with a 30 minute paid lunch
FLSA: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Reports To: Director of Development, Corporate & Retail Partners and the Director of Marketing
Pay: $15/hour
Location: Ann Moody Place
Position Summary: The Special Events and Marketing Intern will get hands on experience with development work in a non-profit setting, including but not limited to, fundraising, marketing, social media project planning, volunteering and project/special event management.
Special Events: Assist with order fulfillment for Partners Card. Manage the Community Sellers group within the Partners Card program by sending bi-weekly communications, delivering supplies, and assisting with basic Partners Card questions. Provide additional support for ancillary development events as needed.
Marketing and Social Media: Assist with the creation of communications and marketing materials under the supervision of our Director of Marketing. Create and execute a campaign for The Family Place Resale Shop’s social media, including taking photos, writing copy, and scheduling posts.
Requirements: Current full-time undergraduate student as of Fall 2024.
Preferred Majors: Communication, Marketing, and/or Public Relations.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License and clear driving record.
Mental and Physical Abilities: Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs).
Working Conditions: Work may be performed but is not limited to an office environment. While not guaranteed, there is the potential to work remote as projects allow. Intern must have personal computer equipment to work remote.

The Family Place provides free, comprehensive services that prevent violence and fully support women, children and men on their path from fear to safety. In 2013, we provided services to a total of 11,758 clients with 171,968 hours of service in Spanish and in English. When families are in our care, we work to meet all of their needs. At our Safe Campus, we feed more than 50 kids every day, providing meals and after-school snacksthats 18,250 after-school snacks a year! We go through more than 3,000 tubes of toothpaste and 3,600 bottles of shampoo each year.
