The Farmer and Chef is Hiring a Food and beverage manager Near Aspen, CO

Position Overview : The Cafe Manager at The Farmer and Chef is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of Front of House (FOH) operations.

This role requires a balance of hands-on management and administrative duties, ensuring the smooth running of the cafe while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

The Cafe Manager will work closely with the Managing Partner to support the barista program, sales management, guest services, and event coordination, both onsite and offsite.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operations Management :
  • Oversee day-to-day cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Staff Management :
  • Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff.
  • Create schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure high standards of service.
  • Customer Service :
  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere reflecting our commitment to genuine hospitality.
  • Financial Management :
  • Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and implement cost control measures.
  • Handle cash management, daily sales reports, and bank deposits.
  • Marketing & Promotion :
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Organize events and promotions to boost sales and brand awareness.
  • Quality Control :
  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality.
  • Oversee the barista program, including training, quality control, and development of new beverage offerings.
  • Supplier Relations :
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, order inventory, and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Sales Management :
  • Assist in managing sales targets, analyzing sales performance, and implementing strategies to increase revenue.
  • Event Coordination :
  • Guest Services Management :
  • Enhance guest experiences by ensuring exceptional service and addressing any guest issues promptly and effectively.
  • Administrative Support :
  • Provide administrative support including payroll administration, timecard management, data entry, and communicating with clients.
  • Event Sales and Planning :
  • Assist with event sales and planning, providing support for all event-related activities.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Cafe Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of beverages, including coffee, wine, and beer.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in hospitality or business management are a plus.
  • Events experience is not required but will be given extra consideration.
  • Full schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed for events.

Work Schedule :

  • Availability during the hours of 6 : 30 am - 3 : 00 pm.
  • Weekend, holiday, and evening work required based on event needs.
  • Approximately 20 hours of administrative work and 25-30 hours of hands-on work in the cafe or during events.
