Position Summary:

The Job Development Manager (also known as the "Placement Performance Manager") drives a high performing team of Placement Specialists and has overall accountability for their performance, quality of service, and related contractual commitments. Position manages their workload and provides supervision and performance coaching. In larger Opportunity Centers, the Job Development Manager may have a peer that whom they work closely to manage their site’s workflow, performance and coaching of program staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a high-performing team of Placement Specialists working from office locations throughout the state of Maine.
  • Conduct supervision and evaluations, recommending performance goals and professional development.
  • Drive team performance to meet contractual and agency targets.
  • Coach and motivate staff, holding team meetings to foster teamwork, ensure high standards of service and participant well-being.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, non-profit partners, and industry experts.
  • Manage employee tenure processes and oversee onboarding and professional development requirements.
  • Analyze team performance using FedcapCARES, identifying trends and creating action plans to address lags.
  • Ensure compliance with agency values, customer service standards, and contract quality standards.
  • Serving as a member of the company's Leadership Team, promote Fedcap Inc. positively with participants, coworkers, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive organizational growth through employer partnerships and proactive relationship building. Create employer engagement solutions tailored to recruitment needs, promoting our brand.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit sector, preferably in workforce development.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
  • Travel: Minimum of 20% travel required, with potential adjustments based on business needs.
  • Experience: Demonstrated track record in building and developing community partnerships.
  • Skills: Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills. Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
  • License: Valid driver’s license required for occasional travel (3-4 times per month).

Wage/Salary: Starting pay range of $52k - $62K / annually
