We are currently seeking a qualified Fitness Trainer/Boot camp instructor for our Fitness Zone location in Little River, S.C.
The Trainer role is primarily responsible for leading and executing high intensity, effective, safe, and fun group exercise classes based on Bootcamp, and functional strength training. The Trainer must bring his/her ‘A game’ every single class, and ensure the members experience an immersive workout which takes their fitness to a higher level. Trainers command the room with poise and confidence, and use member’s names frequently and corrects form as needed. Positive reinforcement is shared with abundance and members’ feel appreciated during and after each class. The Trainer will demonstrate strong customer service orientation, outstanding exercise technique, consultative selling skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for the fitness industry. The role is responsible for working with the General Manager to meet or exceed all member acquisition and retention goals for the Fitness Club and is an ambassador for The Fitness Zone inside and outside the Club.
Responsibilities
- Compliance and adherence by all studio employees to The Fitness Zone policies
- Convert program clients and trial classes to members
- Build and maintain highly engaged member base
- Ensure safety of participants in regard to exercise technique
- Modify specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels
- Perform personalized focus meetings with clients to review and plan for health, fitness, and nutrition goals
- Handle member concerns when applicable and Educate participants on proper techniques, safety protocols, and the benefits of each exercise.
- Develop and implement class plans that cater to varying fitness levels and goals.
- Foster a positive and motivating environment for all participants.
- Conduct fitness assessments and provide personalized guidance as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of current fitness trends, physiology, and best practices in personal training.
- Promote health club programs and services to encourage member participation and retention.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance overall member experience.
Requirements
- Must always be high energy and positive
- Must be selfless and a team player
- Must have current and up to date training certifications (NASM or ACE preferred)
- Degree in Exercise Science or related field, preferred
- Must have sales aptitude
- Certification in group fitness instruction or personal training is preferred.
- Experience in kickboxing, Pilates, cycle training, or other group fitness modalities is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of exercise physiology and health-related topics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate diverse groups effectively.
- Ability to motivate individuals in a group setting while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Previous experience in fitness sales.
- Must be enthusiastic about promoting health and wellness within the community.
