The Folklore's software and marketplace technology helps global fashion, beauty, home, wellness, hygiene, and kids & baby brands manage and grow their wholesale business, source talent, and access capital while enabling retailers and service providers to discover and better engage with brands. In addition to technology, brands have access to educational content and community events designed to help navigate their business from inception through the growth stage. Monthly in-person and digital programming and community groups are designed for brands to connect, support, and build together.

The Folklore is a Techstars (Techstars Seattle 21') venture capital-backed company featured by Vogue, Forbes, Fast Company, Inc., Bloomberg, and Entrepreneur. The company works with enterprise retailers like Nordstrom, Shopbop, and Revolve.

About The Role

The Folklore is seeking an experienced Retail Account Executive to manage relationships and sell to our existing enterprise retail partners. This role, with its core responsibility of owning individual enterprise retail accounts and consistently meeting and communicating with multiple buyers across those accounts, plays a crucial part in the company's growth. The Retail Account Executive will present new brands for consideration, check in on the progress of existing brands, and foster relationships with key brands to ensure they have the support and resources to meet retailers' expectations. This role, with its significant impact on the company's revenue and external relationships, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to developing a barrier-breaking, world-class company.

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Identify and create a sales pipeline of buyers & sell them on buying brands that use our platform
  • Manage every stage of the enterprise sales process: identifying key buyers within our retail partner’s organization, pitching buyers on relevant brands, and closing purchase orders in time to meet our brands' production deadlines
  • Utilize CRM to monitor and track current sales orders and encourage re-orders 
  • Familiarity analyzing sell-through reports
  • Assist in leading in-store activations and product knowledge clinics when necessary
  • Consistently meet monthly sales targets, staying on a steady growth trajectory

Account Management 

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with enterprise buying teams, maintaining constant communication and tracking all touchpoints in CRM
  • Communicate openly and effectively between The Folklore team, The Folklore brands, and our retail partners
  • Execute and augment the account management pitch emails and meeting scripts

Brand Management

  • Collaborate with the Brand Account Manager to make sure brands are prepared for market by helping generate pre-market surveys and collecting market materials 
  • Having frequent check-in calls and communication with key brands alongside the Brand Account Manager to learn more about their products, capabilities, and goals
  • Monitor that brands are tracking towards successfully fulfilling orders and properly delivering orders according to retailers' mandates in collaboration with the Brand Account Manager
  • Troubleshooting any issues related to brands successfully accepting or fulfilling orders to come up with solutions brands can implement
  • Learn enterprise retailers' onboarding systems to assist brands with onboarding our brands to those systems

Who You Are

  • Experienced in working with major retailers and facilitating strong relationships with current buyers 
  • Experienced in working at a multi-brand showroom or selling multiple brands at once to a large number of enterprise retail accounts 
  • Have experience leading product knowledge clinics and analyzing sell-through reports
  • Have a strong track record of consistently exceeding sales goals
  • A quick and intuitive learner with a strong understanding of sales and account management
  • Strong hunger and passion for sales and will do whatever it takes attitude to meet or exceed sales goals
  • You have played a critical supportive role in successfully scaling revenue at an early-stage company
  • Exceptionally well organized and can manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to communicate cross-functionally
  • Great team player with a passion for encouraging cross-functional collaboration and alignment
  • You are relentlessly resourceful. When something needs to get done, you always find a way to make it happen. Even when the work is hard, you have the drive to power through it and execute with limited information and ambiguity

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in wholesale sales, particularly within the luxury/fashion categories possessing strong existing buyer relationships
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Experience at a small company or early-stage startup
