Our team located in Lodi, New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Import Logistics professional to join our Supply Chain team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international shipping regulations, values organization, and embraces effective collaboration with suppliers, carriers and customs officials. This role is critical in managing and coordinating all aspects of our business’s import process to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods to our distribution centers throughout the nation.
Import Logistics Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate with overseas offices, vendors, and shippers to manage import documentation and related matters, ensuring all shipments are successfully received at our distribution centers
- Negotiate freight costs to secure the best possible pricing and drive cost savings
- Follow current standard operating procedures (SOPs) and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency
- Stay informed about government regulations, customs regulations, tariffs, and other international import compliance requirements
- Organize, validate and upload shipping documents to NetSuite, such as Packing Lists, Bill of Ladings, etc. to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the import process
- Verify that the correct duty rate is paid for all customs entries by confirming the accurate application of HTS codes and duty rates
- Generate shipping reports to track incoming freight data
- Coordinate with brokers, and forwarders for ISF filing, timely customs release and freight release
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with external and internal departments

- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years working experience
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to analyze a situation and make effective decisions on own
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, across project teams and independently
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized
- Ability to work during all US time zones as well as overseas time zones as needed
