Job Description:
- Developing nanopore based sequencing dedicated to making clinical genetic testing easy and affordable.
- We are developing a revolutionary single-molecule DNA sequencer that can improve the lives of people in a wide variety of ways including timely screening for diseases and diagnosis of various cancers.
- Become an expert on the operation of the Roche High Throughput Sequencing Platform.
- Collect, manage, and identify initial evaluations for device failure issues identified by users.
- Clearly and timely communicate and collaborate across system, device, instrument, and reagent teams in root cause. investigation findings and solution implementations.
- Help design, troubleshoot, and perform instrument and microfluidic device development in a fast-paced environment.
- The Principal/Senior System Engineer's focus is on improving reliability and robustness of the microfluidics electrochemical sensor device through failure analysis, root cause investigations, and identifying and supporting implementation of solutions.
- The candidate will be a technical contributor on long-term, complex and Client projects that require ingenuity, creativity and technical expertise.
- 30% lab work, 30% data analysis, and 30% organizing the issues that come in and plan accordingly/failure analysis.
- BS with 5 years or MS/PhD with 3 years of experience within equipment design/failure analysis, sequencing platforms (DNA, RNA, or NGS), and data analysis with python, R, or JMP.
- 18-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to permanent
- Onsite, M-F, 8am-5pm
- Pay: $70-80 hourly, depending on experience level
