The Controller is responsible for all business and financial analysis and processes across manufacturing, construction and climbing gym operations for The Front Climbing Club and Vertical Solutions. This role will manage cash-flow projections, process control & implementation, and will develop, maintain, & analyze budgets. The Controller will also support their team with day-to-day operations, various reporting, reconciliation and analysis, including maintaining a general ledger accounting system, month-end close, & yearly reconciliations. This position reports directly to the CFO of the company.

Indoor rock climbing has become an incredibly popular mainstream sport and will soon be featured in the Olympic Games. Nearly every state in the nation is now home to at least one rock climbing gym, and all forecasts predict the sport will only continue to grow. We intend to grow with it!

The Front Climbing Club was Utah's first indoor rock-climbing gym, and one of the first in the nation. From our humble beginnings as The Body Shop back in the 80's to three best-in-class facilities today, we have never lost our soul or connection to our roots.

Our walls are fabricated at our headquarters in Salt Lake City by an expert team of carpenters and welders and shipped to job sites across the country for assembly by our traveling field crew. PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS//

• Prepare and distribute complete financial reports to management;
• Create financial analysis models for proposed business ventures;
• Manage business analytics, cash-flow projections, material purchasing, data collection, quality and efficiency studies, statistical modeling, process control and implementation;
• Manage the development, implementation and modifications of accounting policies, procedures and process improvements/best practices;
• Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to predict future revenues, expenses and budgets;
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, and prepare reports for management, which compare budgeted costs to actual costs;
• Create, organize and maintain files using QuickBooks;
• Manage the retail budget, including maintaining, analyzing and reporting;
• Create customer invoices, interact with vendors in-person and on the telephone, & research problems and provide consistent follow-up;
• Review and completes bank reconciliations;
• Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and reports;
• Year-end activities & audits;
• Manage accounting team;
• Assist with the recruitment process; participate in interviews and hiring decisions;
• Document and enforce policies, processes, and procedures;
• Assist with financial reports to ensure fiscal solvency;
• Ad hoc projects as needed;
• Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS//

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, accounting or related degree; Master's degree preferred;
• 5-10 years of accounting experience, public accounting firm experience preferred;
• 5 years managerial/leadership experience;
• Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel;
• 5 years of QuickBooks experience;
• Strong quantitative analytical skills;
• Ability to analyze and audit data to detect errors;
• Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
• Experience reconciling data and comfortable managing and reviewing high volume of data at scale;
• Ability to reconcile accounts and perform cost analyses, month-end close responsibilities, etc.
