The Front Climbing Club is Hiring a Group Fitness Instructor Near Millcreek, UT

Summary As a Group Fitness Instructor, you'll lead and conduct engaging exercise classes for diverse groups of individuals, motivating and guiding participants through various workouts and routines. Your role involves creating and delivering dynamic, safe, and effective fitness sessions, catering to different fitness levels and goals. You'll demonstrate proper techniques, provide modifications when necessary, and ensure a supportive and inclusive environment for participants. You'll maintain class attendance records and foster a positive rapport with attendees to encourage regular participation and overall wellness. Effective communication, enthusiasm, and a passion for fitness are key attributes for success in this role. Our group fitness instructors teach a variety of classes including Barre, Pilates, Spin, HIIT and more! Primary and Essential Functions Managing emails and effectively communicating with Group Fitness and other departments; Prepare an effective and unique 50-minute workout that includes a warmup and brief cool down-workout should be suitable for all fitness levels and must be prepared with adaptations when needed; Arrive at least 15 minutes before class to turn on lights, set up equipment and turn on music; Creating and maintaining a playlist of appropriate music for each class; Greet participants as they arrive with friendliness and enthusiasm. Learn names when possible; Sign participants into the class using our RGP calendar and following no-show charge procedures ; Ask class participants if anyone has any injuries or limitations that you should know about, and keep these in mind as you instruct your class. You may need to make modifications; Lead workout with energy. Your class may rely on you for their motivation, turn the energy up! Is aware of music volume and content. It is hard to hear the instructor if the music is too loud, but it is a total buzz kill if the music is too quiet. Make corrections to participant form when needed; End class on time. Knows how long class is supposed to be and ends on the minute; Teach class how to wipe down and put their equipment away; Thank participants for coming, grab the broom and dry mop. Ensure rooms are clean and the equipment is in the proper place; Take care of the equipment like you own it, and notify the Front Desk Managers or group fitness manager if equipment breaks or needs to be replaced; Turns off lights if there is not another class right after yours. Leaves the doors open to vent; Ensure rooms are stocked with markers, towels, and spray bottles; Additional duties as assigned . Qualifications Group fitness certification or CPT required CPR or first aid certification Must have 3 months of instructing experience in the past 6 months Ph ysi cal fitness is required in order to participate in cla s ses and show participants proper exercise techniques ; Communication skills in order to explain difference exercise and speak in a positive, motivating way ; Extremely d ependable - r arely require s that your class be subbed, and NEVER ask for a sub within 24 hours of your class time unless it is a dire emergency ; High energy and enthusiastic ; Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles ; Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm ; Ability to be professional and motivate class participants. Reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop (bend head or body forward or downward); grasp, turn, and manipulate objects; lift, or carry objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds; stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time ; Perform other reasonable job duties as requested .
