The GBS Group is Hiring a Maritime Project Controls Analyst with Security Clearance Near Virginia Beach, VA

Job Description Overview The GBS Group is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support our Maritime Division located in our Virginia Beach, VA office. The Project Controls Analysts are responsible for supporting Project Managers in overseeing the financial health of the project by analyzing costs, revenue, risks, pricing and assisting with budgets, forecasting of costs and processing project invoices. The Project Controllers compile and analyze financial information for both commercial and government contracts. Successful candidates should also be comfortable with performing other administrative functions as needed since we work in a team environment. This position reports to directly to the Project Controller Manager under the oversight of the Director of Contracts and Project Control. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The Project Controls Analyst will predominantly be responsible for Invoicing, Contract Functions and Financial Reporting as outlined below: Invoicing: * Review and approve expense reports.
* Gather information and generate invoices for internal approval.
* Format and finalize invoice to submit to customer.
* Send invoices to customer, respond to any customer inquiries, and verify submitted invoices are received and approved.
* Enter Government invoices into WAWF. Contract Functions: * Ability to understand and clearly communicate the requirements of contracts to the project teams.
* Review contract documents and creates WBS Codes to enter in Accounting System.
* Enter new jobs and modifications into the accounting system.
* Add employees to job in the accounting system.
* Assist in updating Proposal Center, PM Web App, and Job Closeout Platform
* Assist Contracts on special reports.
* Responsible for tracking division's contracts and subcontract purchase orders.
* Assists with development of cost and price proposals in response to solicitations and requests for quotes.
* Responsible for preparing informal estimates to clients.
Financial Reporting: * Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of project accounts.
* Prepare financial deliverables for customers.
* Create and track division and project budgets.
* Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations.
* Assist Account Managers in the preparation of Invoice and Cash Flow Schedules.
* Creates and analyzes monthly/quarterly/annual reports and ensures financial information has been accurately recorded.
* Using accounting system, generate reports and check for accuracy.
* Present financial information to executives in monthly meetings.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position must possess the following professional experience and
qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
* Minimum of three (3) or more years of experience as a project and cost control or pricing
specialist.
Desired Characteristics: * Should have a general understanding of contract types (especially FFP).
* Familiarity with the Maritime industry and associated project estimating.
* Government contract experience desired.
* Government contract rate structures; DCAA and FAR knowledge.
* Understanding of GAAP is strongly preferred.
* Prefer candidates with expertise in accounting, contract/subcontract development and law, or PMP.
* Communication and collaboration skills are essential.
* Must be able to work independently under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, strong attention to details and ability to identify issues or inconsistencies.
* Ability to work with minimal guidance and take ownership of work product.
* Ability to work well with others in an open environment.
