ResponsibilitiesSummaryThe Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance activities at a facility. Identifies maintenance needs and prioritizes work according to its severity. Supervises, guides, and reviews the work of maintenance technicians and/or resident workers of the facility. Performs more complex and difficult maintenance work at the facility.

ResponsibilitiesSummaryThe Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance activities at a facility. Identifies maintenance needs and prioritizes work according to its severity. Supervises, guides, and reviews the work of maintenance technicians and/or resident workers of the facility. Performs more complex and difficult maintenance work at the facility.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- The Maintenance Supervisor conducts inspections to determine the need for repair and estimate repair costs.
- Schedules preventive maintenance for all safety equipment and systems.
- The Maintenance Supervisor maintains logs of pending and completed maintenance activities.
- Prepares progress, status, and other reports as required by the Assistant Administrator/Support and reviews maintenance department activities, performance, and operations to determine departmental progress towards established goals and objectives.
- The Maintenance Supervisor assigns and inspects work of maintenance personnel.
- Coordinates the preparation of repair orders, equipment records, requisitions, etc.
- The Maintenance Supervisor logs, monitors, and controls the dispensing of all tools used in maintenance activities.
- Performs limited administrative functions (evaluate subordinate personnel work performances and reports).
- Initiates and conducts subordinate training.
- Conducts meetings with subordinate personnel regularly to ensure the operations integrity of maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical trade or college-level courses are highly desirable.
- Three (3) years experience in the general maintenance associated with electricity, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical and carpentry work.
- Must be able to perform the work associated with a Maintenance Technician.
- Must be in good physical condition to perform the duties of the position.
- Candidate needs to be self-motivated and able to prioritize work assignments.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have experience in leading or supervising a staff
- Must be able to pass a background check with applicable authorities.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
- Frequently: lift, carry up to 20 lbs., push or pull up to 40 lbs. or more; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, sit
- Occasionally: lift, carry, push, or pull 60 lbs. or more, drive automatic equipment vehicles, climb, walk, stand, work in extreme temperatures
