The Get Smart Group is a diverse team of multitalented, strategic, and creative individuals who thoroughly enjoy working together to serve our clients. We are looking for a Senior Account Manager who will oversee our stellar team of Account Managers. Our Account Manager team touts motivated, detail-oriented, focused, positive, and organized individuals who manage multiple client accounts at our growing digital marketing agency. As Senior Account Manager, you would have your own amazing client roster to manage too. Party parrot enthusiasts and GIF wizards are strongly encouraged to apply!

This is a full-time position for a virtual employee to be trained remotely. We will train you by working side-by-side with you on real client accounts as you learn our systems, processes, and skills over the first 3 months. Once fully trained, you will take ownership of your clients’ successes and be the main touchpoint for each of your clients. All members of our team exemplify The Get Smart Group’s mission and values. What does a day in the life of a GSGer look like?

Yours is a juggling act that includes customer support, marketing strategy, a basic understanding of HubSpot/ActiveCampaign CRM systems, navigating review and reporting dashboards, marketing calendars, email broadcast writing and setup, social media basics, understanding Google Analytics, SEO monitoring, phone sales, and sales system support….and breathe! If you aren’t currently an expert at ALL of these things, don’t worry, you’ll get there. You'll collaborate closely with our cross-functional team to ensure client satisfaction by keeping their KPIs top of mind, all while staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices to keep our clients at the forefront of their industries.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading a team, preferably in a remote environment. 
  • Strong customer service skills; your clients should have confidence in your ability to manage all aspects of their account. 
  • Proven experience managing both evergreen and promo-specific digital marketing campaigns.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and multiple clients simultaneously.
  • A creative mindset for solving problems.
  • A passion for staying updated with industry trends and changes in the digital marketing landscape.
  • Excellent communicator with a passion for mentoring others. 
  • Previous retail, hospitality, or sales experience is preferred but is not required. 
  • HubSpot, Google Ads, and other relevant certifications are a plus.

Our Tools

Prior experience or familiarity with some of our tech tools would help in this role. If you’ve ever had to download an e-book onto a hand-me-down Kindle for your grandma, you’ll probably do just fine.

Leadership Team

As a member of our leadership team, you will interact with other department heads and will report directly to the Director of Marketing. You will also be responsible for managing the account management team which will grow to five or six people within the next 12 months. Prior experience managing others in a remote environment is a huge plus.

Work Schedule

Our official company work hours are 10am-6pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, but our remote workforce allows for a measure of flexibility. We try, when possible, to pair employees with clients who are in the same or a close time zone. Our workforce is scattered across all North American time zones, but we are currently seeking only US-based employees. 

Normally, no weekend hours will be required, but occasionally special projects or last-minute needs arise and we will discuss these on an as-needed basis. There will be occasional opportunities for travel for industry conferences and team-building events.

Our employees work virtually from home or in a co-working space. Any individual working in this position needs to be self-motivated and organized, using the time management skills and tools available to our team members to get things done on time, per our monthly production schedules. We ask that you have a dedicated workspace with minimal interruptions, access to the tools and equipment you need (a computer/laptop and reliable internet are essential), and a background suitable for regular client Zoom calls.

Access to copious amounts of coffee is a plus, although tea, hot chocolate, and other caffeinated beverages usually suffice if consumed in large enough quantities. We highly encourage co-working with other living beings, including plants, kitties, puppies, goldfish, ducks, snakes, or a pet chicken. Success by team members has been achieved with all the above and more.

The Perks

We invest a lot of time in training the right candidate. There will be a 90-day probationary period so the candidate and company can see if this is the right fit. After that, you may be eligible for a raise and promotion and will begin accruing paid time off and other employee benefits. We conduct regular biannual reviews to help you reflect, improve, and achieve your professional goals.

We offer 11 paid federal holidays, 4 floating holidays per year, and an annual $500 vacation reimbursement. We also provide the option to participate in our employer-matching SIMPLE IRA plan.

Additionally, we provide a stipend of $100 a month towards your personal health care plan.

Starting Pay

Pay for this position is based on experience and qualifications and ranges from $50,000- $75,000 to start. You may be offered an hourly or salaried position based on your level of experience, skills, and any previous sales, or account management experience you bring to the table.
