The Penny Ice Creamery has expanded into the Bay Area!

The Penny Ice Creamery makes ice cream completely from scratch, in house, using local and organic ingredients. We make unique flavors like Honey Lavender, Earl of Grey, and Raspberry Rose! We also make timeless flavors like Cookies n' Cream and Straight Up Strawberry, and our classics like Fresh Mint Chip, Tahitian Vanilla Bean, and Dark Chocolate.

We are seeking Shift Leaders for our two Bay Area locations:

Los Altosat theState Street Market(170 State St, Los Altos, CA 94022), and

Palo Altoat theTown and Country Village(855 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94301).

As a Shift Leader, you will create an excellent customer experience by scooping ice cream, making special items like ice cream sundaes and milkshakes, making tea and espresso drinks (proudly serving Verve Coffee!), and maintaining the shop. You will also become an expert in making fresh sugar cones and marshmallow fluff!

In addition to providing exceptional service, you will be a leader and a role model for the staff. During your shift, you will be responsible for maintaining the flow of business and the presentation of the shop, and for holding everyone to our high standards of service and product quality.

Requirements

Skills include critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, and leadership. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in leadership.
Ability to work autonomously, both as a team player and as a leader.
Ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
Skills include attention to detail and follow-through.
Available to work on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Able to work alone/ unsupervised.
Available to work at least 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK THROUGH SUMMER 2024.
