Job Summary

The Treatment Support Technician/Driver Staff is responsible for the supervision and activities of enrolled clients participating in the program’s social-model outpatient treatment setting. The Program Technician helps to provide a safe, supportive, and caring environment to promote well-being, encouragement, safety, and encourages clients continue their recovery program. This position is expected to cooperate as a team member with our Clinical and Operational staff. The Treatment Support Technician/Driver Staff has knowledge of and is culturally sensitive to clients and employees. This employee is knowledgeable of the treatment process along with the problems and issues presented by clients participating in our treatment programs. The Treatment Support Technician/Driver Staff is responsible for providing a healthy, safe, comfortable, exceptionally clean facility for program clients during their treatment with The Grove Recovery Community outpatient program.

  • Knowledgeable with community self-help support programs such as 12-Step AA/NA, Faith-Based,SMART and other support groups.
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or RADT from approved certifying organization such as CAADE and CCAPP
  • Possess valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Health Screening Clearance, Current T.B. clearance and annual TB clearance.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20 lb

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The TST/Driver Staff will be assigned projects, based on his/her level of expertise, that include any, or all of the following job responsibilities.

  1. Uphold and enforce the agency’s standards, policies and procedures, code of conduct, and rights of person’s served,
  2. Manage and supervise clients by enforcing program rules and guidelines
  3. Conduct orientation to new residents, including reviewing safety drills and locations of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation diagrams, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kits
  4. Monitor and document client self-administration of medications while coaching clients in self-management.
  5. Document medications according to organization’s policy on Medication Use.
  6. Vitals to be completed every day periodically
  7. When completing rounds you are ensuring that clients are breathing, location, emotional and mental status gauge.
  8. Communicate effectively and develop rapport with clients in a treatment setting
  9. Conduct resident drug testing, which includes direct observation, reviewing and reporting onsite test results and/or urine collection procedures for laboratory analysis.
  10. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clinical and administrative staff and supervisors
  11. Must participate in Staff Protocol Trainings to be competent in role of monitoring/management of clients
  12. Responsible for client attendance of daily recovery activities as scheduled. Monitor and report client behavior with medication side effects
  13. May provide suggestions to clients relating to personal experience, strength, and hope. Yet have the ability to refer client to his/her Mental Health Therapist/counselor for psychological/emotional issues.
  14. Provide safe, supervised, client transportation to scheduled off-site activities (12-step meetings, outings, physician appointments, recreational and recovery-related activities, etc.)
  15. Report all health and safety hazards, facility and/or vehicle maintenance/repair problems to the Safety Officer.
  16. Transport clients to/from appointments, treatment center, 12-step meetings, and other related recovery activities.
  17. Responsible for vehicle upkeep and conformance with Vehicle Safety Binder, if driving.
  18. Maintain accurate monthly vehicle safety inspection and mileage records, if driving. Immediately document and report critical incidents, behavioral incidents and medication errors to Safety Officer and/or Program Director.
  19. Conduct emergency safety drills when announced by Safety Officer.
  20. Additional duties may be required if deemed necessary by administration.
