DescriptionThe Gund Company has an immediate opening at our­­­­­ St. Louis, MO manufacturing plant for a full-time 1st Shift Secondary Bonding/Wet Layup Utility Operator II working on aerospace-related products.

Shift: First (6:00am -2:30pm, Mon-Fri)
Hourly Wage: $23-$25

What are we looking for?Individuals to conduct - quality critical - secondary bonding/ wet layup of composite material with adhesive/resin using various types of manufacturing equipment.
  • Most work will be conducted in CCA (Contamination Controlled Area), having the discipline to ensure that work areas are always CCA compliant.
  • Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
  • laying up various composite material to the desired thickness and spreading resin according to the instructions on customer orders.
  • Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Record operational or production data, CTQs and all needed specs as outlined by the Manufacturing Plan/WO instructions.
What do we need from you?
  • Basic to intermediate math skills (Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide), required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with wet layup, mixing, batching, or compounding resin preferred.
  • Thrive in an active, physical environment with varying levels of noise, temperature, and chemicals.
  • Operations Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the material is up to spec and a machine is working properly.
  • Quality Control Discipline — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance, and ensure it is fully documented.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is typical of most shop environments, not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.
  • May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
