Job Summary:
The Halpern Law Firm (HLF) is hiring an Accounting Supervisor. HLF is a plaintiff's firm, supporting the victims of mesothelioma. HLF is dedicated to the fundamental idea of helping people. The Accounting Supervisor will help the Accounting Manager oversee the accounting staff, plan, and direct the accounting activities of the department. This is an in-person role located in our Ardmore, PA (19003) office. The salary commensurate with experience starts at $50,000.00.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Assist the Accounting Manager in managing the accounting staff who are responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and settlement disbursement.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assist in making deposits and expedite disbursements of settlements and liens.
· Ability to assist in release and lien tracking.
· Ability to read contracts.
· Performs and oversees daily accounting transactions such as: records deposits, issues client cost checks, processes case settlement checks and credit card transactions.
· Processes check request payments to clients and accurately records those payments to client costs.
· Conducting daily banking activities
· Reconciling client cost accounts; reconciles and reviews credit card and bank statements.
· Processes case settlement checks after proper approval and authorization.
· Act as backup for Payroll if Accounting Manager is out.
· Assist in administrative and human resource responsibilities
· Assist in insurance renewals
· Assist in travel arrangements
· Assist in writing accounting/settlement procedures
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Proficient in QuickBooks.
· Excellent management and supervisory skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Proficient in accounting.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Payroll experience preferred.
· AR/AP, Invoicing experience.
Education and Experience:
· Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or the equivalence of experience.
· Five years or more of related experience required.
· Plaintiff's Law Firm handling disbursements is preferred.
