The Hanover Insurance Group is Hiring a Claims Auditor Near Worcester, MA

Our Claims Quality team is currently seeking a Claims Auditor to join our growing team. This is a full time, exempt role. This role is eligible for a fully remote arrangement. POSITION OVERVIEW:
Conducts workgroup audits to identify trends that are affecting claim department performance and to measure and report workgroup adherence to best practices and results related to quality, leakage, compliance and brand behavior.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Conduct file reviews to measure and report adherence to best practices and results related to the quality of file handling, leakage, compliance with state regulations and representation of the Hanover / Citizens brand
  • Gather workgroup data / information to allow analysis of the various factors which might be driving workgroup performance or acting as predictors of workgroup performance
  • Complete a performance summary for each file audited; requires management direction, review and oversight
  • Collaborate with the claim training organization to develop and revise training programs
  • Assist in planning, preparing and presenting the quarterly audit summary; including trends, findings and outcomes to Claim Senior Leadership
  • Responsible for written audit reports provided to the Claim Senior Leadership; requires review and assistance from management
  • Identify best practice concerns and recommend modifications for improvement
  • Provide effective line of business feedback on adequacy of best practices
  • Moderate coaching and guidance is required
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • May provide technical advice to associates and other functional areas
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in the field
  • Demonstrated ability to handle claims effectively in accordance with department best practices, state regulatory requirements and expectations of the Hanover / Citizens brand
  • Sound judgment regarding the quality of file handling, existence of leakage, compliance with state regulation, representation of the Hanover / Citizens brand and the sharing of information
  • A high degree of initiative and effective organization and time management skills
  • An solid understanding of the organizational relationships within the company and the claim related needs other functional areas
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with front line staff and management
  • Possesses the potential to move to a leadership or senior technical position
  • College degree preferred - advanced degree a plus
  • Adequate claim adjusting experience to demonstrate the required competency
  • Computer experience (MS Office, excel, word, etc.)
  • Proficient using Claims systems (i.e. CSS, PMS, HCS etc.)
