The Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Charlotte, NC has the following opening for a Staff Software Engineer.
Summary of Duties: Position will provide technical leadership, enforcing the vision of the application architecture and integrity of the application environment in alliance with architects and other tech leads; End to End solution delivery involving multiple platforms and technologies; participate in development; oversee code reviews and sets standards for development practices; partner with the project team to provide estimates, quality and accuracy of technical designs, build and implementation; understand and implement the overall technical vision for projects, programs and systems, keeping in mind cross-functional impacts, integration across the organization and architecture rationalization; mentor, coach and train team members and peers, both internal and vendor partners, to enforce development guidelines and best practices; work closely with the architecture team to ensure that the technical solution designs and implementation are consistent with the architectural vision; develop code that conforms to The Hartford coding standards, industry best practices, and continuous integration and continuous delivery aligned with Enterprise DevOps practices; work closely with development team, BA's, App managers, QA test leads and architects using Agile methodology; oversee technical deliverables, coaching and mentoring of junior developers and provide technical leadership for same; understand and implement the overall technical vision for projects, programs, or systems, keeping in mind cross-functional impacts, integration across the organization and architecture rationalization; provide thought leadership to drive continuous improvement, pragmatic deliberations and root cause problem solving; and, able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires at least four (4) years of experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and integration development using GOSU with PolicyCenter v8.0/10.0. Experience must also include the following: Demonstrable experience with Guidewire Edge API framework; Demonstrable experience with Guidewire Digital framework; Demonstrable experience developing web-based Java/J2EE applications; Demonstrable experience implementing Web Services and APIs (SOAP and Rest); Demonstrable experience with Spring Batch / Spring Boot; Demonstrable experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift; Demonstrable experience in Object Oriented Design, Relational Databased Design, RESTful Service Design, Secure coding practices; Demonstrable experience with relational database technologies such as Oracle; Demonstrable experience with application server such as JBoss; Demonstrable experience with AWS concepts and services; Experience with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies leveraging tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, Rally, SonarQube, and/or CheckMarx; and, Demonstrable experience with Agile methodology (Scrum, SAFE)..

The salary range for this posting is $139,027.00 - $153,000.00 per YEAR.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
