Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Catering Event Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of catering events. In this role, you will serve as a project manager from the initial booking through to the successful completion of each event. Key responsibilities include staffing, equipment procurement, conducting site visits, and fostering strong relationships with vendors, coordinators, and venues. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will ensure seamless events that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients, and venues.
· Address and resolve any complaints related to food quality or service promptly and professionally.
· Evaluate work procedures and operational challenges to identify opportunities for improving service, performance, and safety.
· Plan and execute events from inception to completion, aligning with client requirements, target audience, and objectives.
· Propose innovative ideas to enhance the overall success of events.
· Oversee all operational elements of events to ensure smooth execution.
· Manage the loading and unloading of catering vehicles efficiently.
· Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds as necessary.
· Assist with food preparation and table setup prior to events.
· Set tables, carry trays, and serve food according to established dining etiquette.
· Organize buffet displays while adhering to food presentation and safe handling standards.
· Serve plated meals to guests and respond promptly to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs.
· Transport food from the kitchen to the buffet as required.
· Maintain clear communication with the Team Captain, other servers, and event organizers.
· Clear tables and perform dishwashing and cleaning tasks as needed.
· Assist in post-event cleanup, inventory management, food storage, and other closing duties.
· Operate catering vehicles as necessary.
· Demonstrate familiarity with event operations and adapt to varying schedules based on event volume.
· Accommodate and work schedules that align with the demands of event volume.
· Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Coordinate menu arrangements for clients that maximize revenue while meeting their needs.
· Facilitate pre-planning and final detail meetings with points of contact for events.
· Provide comprehensive post-event reports for all events, submitting them to the Director of Catering and uploading photos to the appropriate files.

Qualifications
• Education: Associate's degree preferred
• 2 years' experience in Catering, Sales, or Conference Management.
• Extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards.
• Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing and client requests.
• Interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction.
• Ability to wear multiple hats, you may have to take on responsibilities outside of this job description at times (as we all do!)
• Maintain flexible hours to accommodate customer and business needs.
