We're building up our baking team at The Hive! Since launching our cinnamon rolls in January 2022, they've grown in popularity and are now our top-selling treat. We bake them fresh every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a new specialty flavor launching each month.
The Hive is a female-founded, independent business with two locations in Hudson County, New Jersey. Their knack for customer service and developing innovative recipes has garnered attention from The Drew Barrymore Show, Hoboken Girl, PIX11 News, The Food Network, Delish, and countless content creators across Instagram and TikTok.
THE ROLE: Cinny Captain (Jersey City Hoboken)
Our Cinny Captains bring to life the cinnamon rolls that our bakers produce throughout the week. They are responsible for proofing and baking The Hive’s most popular baked good - the cinny roll! - and integrate with our team of baristas Fridays - Sundays to make those mornings a little bit sweeter.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prep, proof, bake, and serve our famous cinnamon rolls with precision, speed, and attention to detail. Our cinny mornings are bustling and full of energy, so we need someone who can keep up and have a little fun while they're at it!
- Ensure product consistency and maintain The Hive’s high standards of delicious quality. If it doesn’t look perfect, it doesn’t get sold.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, adhering to sanitation and health regulations, along with The Hive’s own policies.
- Work amongst a bustling, well-oiled team!
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Prior baking experience.
- Passion for what you do. You are motivated and keen to improve your craft with every shift.
- Food Safety Manager Certification required.
- A love of early mornings! Proofing starts at 5AM, we're baking by 7, and boxing up those first batches by 7:45.
- Adaptability. Anything can (and often will) happen. You’re able to calmly troubleshoot when things don’t go as planned.
- Eye for detail – you’re meticulous about the items you create and understand the technique and patience it takes to create consistently high-quality products.
- A sense of humor! Things can get messy and busy, but we’ve got to find the laughter in it all.
- Stamina. Cindy mornings are boisterous and require ample time on your feet, carrying heavy pans, travel up and down stairs, repetitive motions, and energy!
SHIFTS NEEDED:
- Friday - Sunday, starting at 5AM. Not required, but availability on Thursday afternoon prep shifts are available!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
