About the Tropicana Pool and Rosy Café

Tucked behind our pool and shaded by lush palms, Rosy Café is a stylish poolside dining destination for al fresco breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tropicana Pool offers guests an opportunity to relax and enjoy curated drinks and food beside The Hollywood Roosevelt’s vintage 60's-style pool.

Position Summary

The Manager, Rosy Café and Tropicana Pool is responsible for supporting the overall operation of Tropicana Pool and Rosy Café at The Hollywood Roosevelt. Key responsibility areas include department performance, increased sales and profitability, effective cost controls and management, development, development, and retention of associates. 

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of Rosy Café and Tropicana Pool, including managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining quality and safety standards effectively and efficiently.
  • Oversee the performance, training, and scheduling of all Rosy Café and Tropicana Pool associates.
  • Support associates on the floor, especially during busy periods.
  • Partner with F&B and hotel leadership in meeting or exceeding budgeted sales and profit goals by maintaining labor efficiency ratios, and balancing guest service and cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor the operation of Rosy Café and Tropicana Pool bar by ensuring associates complete all duties and responsibilities and conduct inspections accordingly. 
  • Approve all comps, voids, etc. Ensure all maintenance and housekeeping issues are reported in a timely manner.
  • Review and submit completed shift operations daily to Director of Outlets.
  • Engage and make contact with guests and monitor service, presentation, and quality to ensure consistency and satisfaction.
  • Respond to guest comments and criticism in a constructive and positive manner, making each interaction an opportunity to build guest satisfaction. Educate and empower associates to act.
  • Ensure a safe and secure work and bar environment for associates and guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Maintain cash handling procedures are followed by staff and ensure all cash tips are allotted to appropriate staff.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Assist in conducting regular associate/departmental meetings and lead Tropicana Pool and Rosy Café associates by providing regular coaching and counseling. 
  • Administer corrective action and discipline to associates as necessary. 
  • Provide training and recognition to employees at all levels.
  • Lead team in a team-oriented environment.
  • Assist in hiring and staffing bar with quality employees who value guest service and are committed to high standards of performance. 

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 4 years of prior bar/restaurant experience in management/ leadership role
  • Previous Hospitality Experience Required

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • ServSafe Manager Certification Preferred
