We are hiring a QA Test Lead for a government agency. This is a remote, long-term contract, working hours 8 a.m. -5 p.m. US CST.

This individual will join a dynamic QA team and act as a Test Lead. Their primary role will be to analyzie S.O.W.'s and create and manage the Test Plan's. Must have strong communication skills and experience working witih Project Managers and Business Unit's.
This role will involve 20% or less actual testing.

This position provides software quality assurance services and will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Analyze functional, service level and technical requirements and use cases.
• Write high quality deliverables such as test plans, manual test scripts.
• Cross reference test scripts with requirements.
• Execute a wide range of quality-control testing to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards including functional, regression, integration, performance, and compliance tests.
• Conduct manual testing of software applications.
• Document all detected issues and variances and assist in their resolution.
• Work with cross functional teams, including technical, project, customer, and vendors.
• Clearly document and communicate inconsistencies, issues.
• Lead Test status and defect triage meetings with project team.
• Lead/facilitate User Acceptance testing.
• Send out timely testing status reports to the project team.
• Follow defined AE IT standards and procedures in the creation of Test Plan/scenarios.
• Assist with automated test scripts with knowledge in test automation frameworks.

Years: Skills/Experience

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Business or Computer Scienc (Education or experience may be substituted up to a maximum of four (4) years)

5-7 years of:

• Extensive experience of software testing methodologies
• Experience documenting test plans, test requirements, defect tracking and resolution
• Experience writing, running, and maintaining test scripts
• Extensive experience in manual testing knowledge and experience
• Experience working with Test Management and Defect Management tools
• Experience leading and reporting test activities
• Proven work experience with analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience as Test Lead
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with technical style guides and writing standards
• Experience with integration testing and best practices
• Experience communicating effectively with audiences of varying technical aptitudes

Preferred Qualifications
Years Skills/Experience
3 years of:

• Knowledge of systems used to support the business of Utility, for example: IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) application, Oracle Customer Care and Billing application, Automated Data Management and Meter Data Management system applications
• Experience with IBM Engineering Lifycycle Management Management (ELM) or similar CLM tool
• Experience with IBM Rational Functional Tester and Rational Performance Tester tools and Selenium
• Automation Testing

TX residents will be required to attend onsite meetings 1x/month.
