• The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for performing student observations, developing and providing therapy services, and documenting services in accordance with the plan of care developed for students
• Collaborates with the school team to determine student needs, support, accommodation and modifications appropriate to students who receive physical therapy
• Plan, prepare, or carry out individually designed programs of treatment
• Provides educationally and developmentally-based occupational therapy to support students' individual goals and access to the school environment
• Communicates and collaborates professionally with school staff
• Advise student and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
• Collects progress-monitoring data for purposes of tracking and reporting
• Observe the impact of treatment at various stages and adjust care plans to achieve targeted goal

Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree and valid NY State License
• Master's degree preferred

• Two to five years experience preferred
• Appreciation for the school’s mission, in particular its inclusive learning environment and commitment to social justice
• A desire and eagerness to make a difference in the school--to contribute time and talent inside and outside of therapy sessions to the growth of students and to the broader work and life of the school
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to collaborate as a part of a team, flexibility, and a sense of humor
