Job Description: Project Manager/Business Analyst

Location: Fully Remote (U.S. based)

Position Summary

The Project Manager/Business Analyst (PM/BA) will manage and deliver business solutions by leading IT projects from inception to completion. This role involves a blend of project management and business analysis, focusing on the backend system's user story creation and grooming. The successful candidate will have strong communication and collaboration skills, a deep understanding of Scrum methodology, and the ability to work independently within a remote team.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Lead and manage IT projects, ensuring successful delivery of business solutions that meet user acceptance criteria and departmental standards.
• Business Analysis: Analyze business functions, evaluate end-user requests, and contribute to determining technical feasibility and project ROI.
• User Stories: Write and groom user stories for backend systems, collaborate with development teams in story grooming sessions, and ensure clarity and feasibility.
• Stakeholder Management: Proactively communicate with stakeholders, manage their expectations, and ensure alignment towards shared objectives.
• Scrum Methodology: Apply Scrum practices, participate in continuous processes (e.g., sprints), and work towards roadmap and fiscal year goals.
• Collaboration: Work with various teams, including QA, developers (Java, AWS), and offshore/onshore teams to make the product team self-sufficient.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in IT by developing and implementing strategic plans to meet technology and business objectives.
• Documentation: Document project requirements, develop user acceptance criteria, high-level test plans, and maintain a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM).
• Change Management: Lead and coordinate Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, ensuring risk mitigation and minimizing the impact of change-related events.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and practices for IT projects.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 6 to 8 years in information systems project management, with experience as a Business Analyst.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Certifications: PMP and ITIL certifications preferred but not required.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Scrum methodology and experience in continuous processes (sprints).
• Advanced proficiency in writing user stories for backend systems.
• Experience with JIRA and Microsoft Project Server.
• Technical understanding of backend technologies such as Java and AWS.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently.
• Financial/budgeting acumen.
