Our client, a Fortune 500 American insurance company, is looking to bring on two Software Asset Management Analysts for a two year assignment at their offices in Lynchburg, VA on a hybrid basis (two days remote and three days in the office).

The IT Software Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for the enterprise-wide management of digital technology assets with primary focus on gathering contract and entitlement information and using that information to create entitlements in the Software Asset Management System to allow the creation of position reporting. The entitlements will encompass both SaaS and on-premises software solutions. The role will require knowledge of software licensing for both categories of software. This key role will require prior significant experience with Software Asset Management, along with the functions that support the software lifecycle. We are looking for an analyst who possesses the technical skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse set of technical resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary focus will be the population of software asset data into the Flexera software asset tracking system. Tasks will include gathering procurement data, license data, EOL and EOS data, contract data, license assignment and all related financial information.
• Review and analyze software application license agreements, contracts, and maintenance contracts to establish entitlements.
• Do data validation between all systems of record and the Flexera SAM tool.
• Manage preparation and distribution of pre-defined and ad-hoc reports; identify and recommend software that has the potential to be harvested or replaced with lower cost alternatives.
• Perform application deployment versus licensing entitlement reconciliations to identify over and under licensing and utilization by product.
• Provide data insights that assist with license agreement renewals, negotiation, and procurement decisions including, but not limited to, ROI and cost avoidance.
• Monitor changes to license terms and conditions (T&Cs). Alert stakeholders to licensing changes that are relevant to them. Tracking of software entitlement data as it relates to projects. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain integrity of software asset data.
• Identify and report on potential issues with the company's asset tracking tool, Flexera. Report on issues with all supporting systems and input. Develop and maintain Software Asset Management related program and process documentation
• Communicating with vendors

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• The desired candidate will be detail and task oriented while at the same time capable of seeing the broader picture.
• Capable of designing, developing, and generating reports to communicate and monitor compliance, liability, and budgetary data for software applications.
• 2 years of experience in software license management, associates or bachelors degree, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience with software tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune, and Nexthink.
• Experience with application publishers minimally to include Alteryx, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Tableau, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, and Adobe.
• Should possess a solid understanding of IT Asset Management software management policies, procedures, and practices.
• Experience using SAM tools for software license reconciliation (Flexera One and ServiceNow) as well as the knowledge of how to manually reconcile data.
• Solid interpersonal, collaboration, communication and relationship skills delivering a positive customer experience.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Experience with data analysis tools including Excel and Power BI.
• Familiar with contract/agreement review and accurate interpretation.
• Experience validating licenses on PCs
• Ability to run reports in ServiceNow, Flexera
• Understand and consume contracts and be able to pull out required information from multiple vendors
• Licensing expert
• Experience dealing with audits from companies like Oracle, Microsoft, Dell and knowledgeable in terms of audit responses
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Capable of working independently and able to handle multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates with IAITAM certifications: Certified Software Asset Manager - CSAM, Certified Asset Manager Professional - CAMP will be preferred, but not required.
