Job DescriptionPosition: Bookkeeper - Insurance Agency Job Type: Full-time
Benefits: 401(k), Dental insurance, Disability insurance, Health insurance, Paid time off, Vision insurance
Experience
  • Accounting for an Independent Insurance Agency: 3 years (Required)
  • Experience with AMS360 or Applied EPIC
Essential Job Functions
  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices for operating expenses, reconcile, and record credit card transactions promptly.
  • Insurance Company Payables: Reconcile and pay invoices/statements for agency bill insurance transactions promptly.
  • Accounts Receivable: Record deposits of commission and customer payments promptly.
  • General Ledger Reconciliation: Review and reconcile general ledger balances to subsidiary ledger detail on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as applicable.
  • Financial Statements: Prepare draft financial statements monthly for Accountant review and respond to review questions within 24 hours.
  • Commission Invoicing: Invoice direct bill commission in a backup capacity to the direct bill specialist.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in AMS360 or Applied EPIC software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
