The Joshua School is Hiring a Training and Data Management Specialist Near Englewood, CO

Summary:
The Training Specialist is responsible for evaluating the needs and current practices at TJS and, in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team, creating and delivering a robust training development plan complete with materials, training courses/presentations, tutorials (if/when appropriate), instructions, and learning resources to be delivered consistently across all three TJS campuses. This is intended to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students and safety for staff at the level of programming expected as a top school for students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. The Training Specialist will be responsible for delivering training, training others to deliver training with fidelity and consistency, and providing clarification and correction as needed to learners. The Training Specialist may be consulted by the behavior team to provide support and in situ coaching in managing challenging behaviors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • On an ongoing basis, assess current training practices and curriculum/resources to ensure training needs are being met
  • Meet with Program Directors, Lead Teachers, Specialists, and the Senior Leadership Team to collaborate and advise on training and development needs
  • Schedule and manage all CALM and QBS-Safety Care (JECC only) trainings, both initial and twice annual refreshers. Expected to provide hands-on training, and train others to also provide hands-on training for both CALM and Safety training
  • Train staff on organization-wide systems and processes
  • Create monthly organization-wide training topics with mini-modules for weekly clinicals
  • Schedule and supervise onboarding trainings with support from campus Program Directors and HR Department
  • Schedule quarterly parent trainings with external and internal speakers
  • Create and deliver trainings on Essentials for Living, Skills Based Treatment, Functional Academics, and other organization-wide programs
  • Oversee mandatory trainings as required by licensing agencies (i.e., CDE, CDHS)
  • Oversee supervision of trainees enrolled in graduate programs in the field of ABA, Special Education, and other related fields
  • Remain up-to-date on research and current trends with ASD and ABA
  • Review incident reports and participate on the ethics committee to review incident and restraint policies and procedures, and work with the leadership team to work proactively to reduce potential injuries
  • Coach and train staff as needed on how to communicate effectively and effectively using The Joshua School's philosophies
  • Provide in situ training and coaching on crisis management to ensure alignment with legal requirements and best practices
  • All other responsibilities as delegated by their supervisor
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
  • A commitment to working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • A master's degree in education, psychology, or related field is required
  • Certification as a BCBA and in good standing with the BACB is required
  • Must be certified as a trainer for both CALM and QBS-Safety Care Trainer or become certified within 60 days
  • 5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Maturity and reliability
  • Good driving record and valid Colorado Driver's License
  • Confident and engaging public speaker
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better, more effective solutions
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to create effective presentations and effectively present information and respond to questions from learners, leadership, and all levels in the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply new information to existing problems to resolve issues.
Certificates and Licenses:
Certification as a BCBA and in good standing with the BACB is required.

Computer/Technical Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, Google Suite Software, knowledge of data collection platform software, and learning management systems.

This role operates in a school environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and projectors. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
