DescriptionThe Judge Group has a new opportunity for a Communications Systems Engineer. In this role you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, modeling, testing, and simulating communications systems, subsystems, and electronic signals. This role involves working on communication networks, data links, digital radio, battle management, and command and control systems. Specific tasks include designing wide and local area networks, point-to-point systems, secure systems, signal coding, modulation schema, and network architecture.

DescriptionThe Judge Group has a new opportunity for a Communications Systems Engineer. In this role you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, modeling, testing, and simulating communications systems, subsystems, and electronic signals. This role involves working on communication networks, data links, digital radio, battle management, and command and control systems. Specific tasks include designing wide and local area networks, point-to-point systems, secure systems, signal coding, modulation schema, and network architecture.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related scientific/engineering field
- Proficiency in C development, including coding, debugging, and testing
- Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL/HDL
- Experience designing software for real-time and near-real-time software executing Physical-layer signal processing of digital communication receivers (e.g., demodulation, equalization, decoding)
- Familiarity with design principles for digital communication systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including collaborating with other on-site and/or remote technical team members, preparing and sharing technical results, and documenting work
- Experience developing software for 5G NR Physical layer (e.g., using software packages such as srsRAN)
- Hands-on experience with operating Ettus/NI software-defined radios
- Proficiency in MATLAB
- Python programming
- Proficiency in scientific programming for GPU architectures
- Master’s degree or PhD.
- Must have an interim Clearance (preferably a Secret Clearance)
