Location: Lexington, MA
Salary: Depends on Experience
DescriptionPosition: Control Software Engineer - Communications
Location: Lexington, MA (2-3 days per week on-site)
Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance Required
Background and Need: The Advanced Satcom Systems and Operations Group focuses on research, proof-of-concept test beds, and system engineering efforts. Their goal is to enhance the capacity, robustness to interference, and flexibility of future generations of communication satellites and line-of-sight radio communication systems. Current research areas include advanced waveforms, flexible frequency plans, acquisition and tracking techniques, resource allocation protocols, and advanced networking strategies.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop application software, writing and implementing efficient code.
Research, design, develop, and implement software applications and systems.
Plan system deployment and ensure compliance with software standards.
Evaluate and implement interfaces between hardware and software.
Document testing, client experience, and system corrections.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to meet security standards.
Conduct unit tests.
Design, develop, and integrate control software for wireless communication systems (e.g., communication satellite payloads, ground terminals).
Work with single-board computers and general-purpose processors in an embedded environment.
Integrate and test software with commercial off-the-shelf and proprietary digital hardware boards.
Diagnose issues during integration and collaborate with other developers to address them.
Required SkillsetAEHF and Milstar Satcom Systems
Protected Tactical Waveform
SNMP
Programming languages: C/C , Python, Java, JavaScript
Matlab programming experience
Proficiency in a Linux environment
