Job Title: Mainframe Developer

Location: Omaha, NE – 5 days Onsite

Duration: 6-12 Months Contract to Hire

Role Overview: Join our Technology Operations team as a Mainframe Developer, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the operational excellence of our IT infrastructure. Your hands-on approach will be crucial in collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless production and client support. You will be instrumental in refining our processes, contributing to our technology strategy, and reducing technical debt, all within a dynamic and high-performance environment.

Top 3 Must:

• Hands-on experience in MVS Assembler
• CICS
• Full life-cycle development experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Mainframe applications, with proficiency in MVS Assembler and CICS.
• Provide round-the-clock support for production applications, addressing escalated incidents and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Oversee configuration management, continuous integration, and application monitoring, while driving automation and process improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring compliance with certification standards and disaster recovery protocols.
• Facilitate code deployments, collaborating with development and quality control teams to ensure successful launches or manage fallback procedures.
• Enhance our infrastructure to be more deployable, scalable, secure, and resilient.
• Engage in capacity planning and system tuning, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues for continuous system improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in application development or production support.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Comprehensive experience in full life-cycle development within a tech-centric environment, preferably in the financial or banking sector.
• Knowledge of DB2 relational database management systems.
• Proficiency in using monitoring tools like Splunk.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in Mainframe technologies, including Assembler and CICS.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
